I am a fully qualified, friendly, respectful and caring therapist with up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the most effective techniques which will help you to bring about the changes you have identified. I will not judge you or the problems you choose to share with me.  

I use solution focused clinical hypnotherapy, CBT and NLP methods with adults, couples, families, children and young people and have been able to help clients to move towards a more positive future.

I also run group Breakthrough Days for education staff from any type or level of school or learning institution which have been very effective at reducing stress and reinvigorating people rapidly. 

Your therapist:
Married with 2 adult children, I qualified as a hypnotherapist and psychotherapist at the prestigious and renowned 'Uncommon Knowledge' training school. Studying linguistic, cognitive, behavioural, social and developmental psychology and undertaking related research projects, I completed my doctorate in education (Ed.D) in 2007 at the University of Brighton. My 100,000 word thesis was externally examined by a BPS registered Chartered Psychologist. I am not a medical doctor.

I keep my knowledge current by reading new research, by being a member of a local 'action learning' group of like-minded therapists and by undertaking ongoing further training in clinical hypnotherapy and psychotherapy. I am also an MA student at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Clinic in London, training in psychological therapy with children, young people and families. In addition, I am currently undertaking further, advanced Level 7 post-graduate study in psychotherapy with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy to achieve UKCP registration as a hypno/psychotherapist. 

I have worked in education and higher education for more than 28 years teaching children and adults and working as a primary school headteacher for 10 years, a local authority education adviser and an employed education consultant. Training adults and developing their talents and skills have been a core part of my work. You can read my CV here.
